Salt Bay Woodworking

The fish were inspired by the annual alewife run up the Damariscotta Mills fish ladder. Every spring nearly 2,000,000 alewives make their way from the Great Salt Bay in Damariscotta to Lake Damariscotta to spawn. A portion of wooden fish sales goes to the Damariscotta Mills Fish Ladder Restoration project. For more information about the alewife run, the annual Alewife Festival and the fish ladder restoration project visit the Damariscotta Mills Fish Ladder Restoration Project website.

Wooden fish are available at The Beach Plum Company in Newcastle, ME or via e-mail order at info@saltbaywoodworking.com
